BioNET’s position paper on post-EU Biodiversity Strategy 2020 was presented at the 4th Regular Meeting of the Biodiversity Task Force of South-East Europe, held in November 2019 in Tirana, Albania.
The Biodiversity Task Force (BD TF) is an intergovernmental technical and advisory body of the Regional Working Group on Environment that coordinates regional activities, facilitates the implementation of the South East Europe (SEE)
2020 Strategy and creates a framework for more efficient implementation of biodiversity policies in the framework of accession to the European Union. More information on the BDTF is available here.
In order to establish and maintain close exchange and cooperation with the governmental structures, offering its expertise and advisory services, BioNET has applied to become member of the BD TF during 2019. Admission has been officially received in February 2020 and BioNET has since actively taken part in BD TF’s work.
Most notably, BioNET has provided input during consultations regarding the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, held amongst BDTF SEE members, representatives of the Regional Cooperation Council and the European Commission.
