The annual meeting of the BIOnet network was held this year in Split with the support of CCFD, within a project implemented by the Center for Environment. Important local support for the organization of this year’s meeting was provided by the host organization “Sunce” from Split.
This year, the meeting brought together seven partner organizations (CZZS, PPNEA, INCA, SUNCE, BIOM, MIS, CZIP) from five countries in the region (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia). In addition to network members, on the final day of the meeting we were joined by a representative of the international organization Bankwatch (BW), Pippa Gallop, with whom we shared experiences and discussed possible forms of future cooperation, including the potential admission of BW as an associate member of BIOnet.

On the second day, SUNCE presented its overall work, with a particular focus on the ASPEH project, as well as its activities related to the protection of Posidonia seagrass. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a sustainable tour of the city of Split, exploring it not only from a historical and tourist perspective, but also through a sustainability and environmental lens, organized by our hosts.
During the three-day meeting and joint social activities, representatives of the organizations exchanged experiences and strengthened their connections through both project-based and programmatic work. In the coming period, we will consider the development of a new strategic plan, as well as opportunities to apply for joint projects.
